New "Creative" Group

Haven't got that much to chat about, I have been busy visiting quilt groups around Victoria and am just about to start a Creative Group in the area I live in. I have discovered that lots of the farmer's wives are feeling a bit remote as their children have grown up and left for the bigger towns. At a meeting recently of the Hall committee, it was mentioned the hall is under-utilised, so I seem to have volunteered to start a group where we can meet once or twice a month and just be creative. I know that some of the younger wives want to learn how to quilt, some crochet and others knit. One just wants to join a group and be able to talk to grown ups! So it will be an intersting concept. I have only lived in the area for about 4 years, so we are still the "new" people. I will keep you posted on how it is progressing and please...feel free to give me advice on how to organise this. As you can see by the photo, there is not many houses around, we have to drive everywhere, so perhaps there will be two groups, one during the day, and one in the evening. On Saturday, we are having our movie nights in the hall, (old time movie, reel to reel "A Patch of Blue"), so I will print up leaflets to let the locals know about the group and perhaps we can gather more participants from that. There was one group about 17kms away, I went there 2 weeks ago and there were only 3 people there. It started out full of excitement, 14 people, then dwindled, I don't want that to happen here.
